About us
Playing in a quartet means communication. It is a challenge for us to join our various views in order to gain an original result. It is the only way to originate music of many colorful and sonic changes, which keep it ever lively and fresh.
When putting this mosaic together our starting point is the deepest possible knowledge of the score. The best way to handle the score, in order to gain the maximum from it, was the aim of our "student stay" at Professor Rainer Schmidt’s in Madrid as well as with Professor Walter Levin’s in Basel. Their experience and a modern attitude towards music have been leading us through our work.
In order to achieve an exquisite interpretation, it is necessary to have a perfect knowledge of the composition and an ability to communicate. Only through open and attentive listening can we create a harmonious piece of music, thanks to which we are able to make a connection with the audience. At that very moment the concert is turning into an exceptional experience. When choosing our repertoire we prefer compositions which address us in some way, and through which we are able to talk to the audience.
The ability to understand a concrete composition is a very much a matter of a complex knowledge of its beginning or the composer's life. We regularly give spoken introductions about our concerts; this offers invaluable information to the audience making it a more enjoyable experience during live concerts.
