Theme - Concerts with Introduction

During our concerts we sometimes give introductions to the pieces we are to play.

Do you find such intoductions interesting?

Does spoken introducton help you to understand the music more deeply?

Would you agree that few words spoken by the artist can relax the overall atmosphere in the concert-hall?

I do agree that a few words spoken at the beginning can make a big change in the concert hall atmosphere. Hearing from the musicians, getting a personal "feel" for the players relationship to the music, adds something very special to the experience to follow. And it creates a bond among the players and the members of the audience that enriches the concert experience for us. For you too?

Same here... After all "the feel" is what the audience is there for (for most cases at least). Good luck and thank you for the evening

Dear Sheila and George, Thank you for nice comments! To answer your question: Yes, it does make a difference for us too. Especially once we can feel, that the audience likes the introduction and communicates back. It is then a real pleasure to give all it takes to make the concert atmosphere alive.
